“Sheriff Cahill paced the surrounding area and noticed an object glinting in the sun.  He approached and found a pair of gold-colored, metal-frame glasses in the snow beneath a crushed buckthorn bush, its branches splayed and its thick stems broken.  About ten feet downhill a large pool of blood soaked the ground, and from there a long drag mark led to Scott’s body.”
